WGC's Under 25 Development Squad went in to the first round proper of the Herts Intermediate Cup, where they will meet Herts County League Croxley Guild, with ease.

After a strong start, Yasir Rashid latched on to 17-year-old man of the match Josh Ward's cross to make it 1-0.

Jack Read then scored for the second game running with a strong header and a superb finish from captain Nathan Studholme made it 3-0 by half- time.

After the break another good finish from Read made it 4-0 before a lapse in concentration allowed Letchworth GC Eagles Res to grab one back with a route one goal.

The visitors had another chance to make it 4-2, but a top class save from Tyler Josephs kept it at 4-1.

After some changes off the bench, Ross Evans who has come on leaps and bounds since the start of the season made it five with a superb run and finish to round off the scoring.

The development side's manager Russ Giblin commented: "I was slightly disappointed with our second- half performance and against stronger sides we will be punished more.

"There were some stand out performances from Josh Ward, Jack Read and Tyler Josephs. We have a good squad and a cup run is something we will desperately want".
