WGC's Under 25 development side erased the memory of their recent crushing by their Hertford counterparts, by handing out a similiar thrashing to Ware's Wodson Park in this midweek fixture.

Russ Giblin's side was stiffened by the inclusion of first-team squad members, Joe Croft, Joe Foley, Yasin Boodhoo, Ashley Kersey, Josh Bronti and Jack Read, most of whom played an hour and were totally dominant from the first minute of this clash.

It only took three minutes for U-25's skipper Nathan Studholme to slide the side in front, finishing off a run and cross from Bronti and then they missed countless chances to double the lead before going 2-0 10 minutes from the interval, a high ball from Bronti finding Read who lobbed expertly over the keeper and into the top corner.

WGC turned around three up when Read managed to pass even though grounded in a challenge, into the path of Bronti, who picked his spot for a much needed goal.

The second-half was only moments over before Kersey trimmed in the fourth with a low drive having been set up by Studholme and on 53 minutes it was a nap hand, when Bronti fired in a strong finish after Kersey had done the spadework.

A momentary lapse let the visitors in for a consolation, Harry Mason getting the better of young centre-back Robbie Steedman to fire past Croft, having a very easy evening, for 5-1.

Soon it was six, straight from a Croft free-kick. It found its way through to Read, who even though he fluffed his first effort, was first to the rebound to force in a personal second.

On the hour mark, manager Giblin withdrew Kersey, Bronti and Boodhoo, to give youngsters Ross Evans, Bailey Rose and Nathan Isherwood the last half-hour and Isherwood immediately took the eye, finishing in some style after the impressive Read had held off three challenges to set up the chance for the seventh.

WGC weren't finished and four minutes from the end, young full-back Josh Ward came forward to show some fine skill to flick over the opposition's head before volleying in the eighth and final goal to leave the Herns Lane side, fifth in the table.
