WGC opened their SSML Development Squad division campaign with a resounding 4-1 away win at Wodson Park, Ware, in midweek.
A powerful second-half display saw the Herns Lane side completely turn around a 1-0 disadvantage at half-time, to run out comfortable winners of their first fixture in the new division.
It was a strong-looking WGC side, with five players from the first-team squad boosting the side managed by Sav Caliskan and Russ Giblin, including Ashley Kersey, who helped himself to a slick, second-half hat-trick.
Others included for this opener were Joe Croft, John McGrandles, Sam Doolan, Danny Payne and Craig Arnott.
Youngster Tom Grey shot wide in the opening minutes for WGC, after being set up by Kersey, before Ives Luhasu miskicked when presented with a chance in front of goal.
Joe Croft was called into action with a smart save from Wodson's Ryan Stevenson at the other end , before Arnott cleverly slipped around two home defenders, only for keeper Musgrove to block his shot.
It was somewhat against the run of play when Wodson Park took the lead in 25 minutes, a long free-kick being allowed to reach forward Bisasp, who prodded past Croft from close range.
Luhasu lifted one good effort just over after more good approach play by Kersey just before the break.
And it was the big striker who changed the game in the second-half, but not before Craig Arnott wrong-footed the Wodson keeper only to hit the foot of the post in the opening minutes of the second-half.
Arnott didn't have to wait long for his goal, however. Five minutes into the half, Doolan rose to head on a corner to Arnott waiting on the far post and he turned it home from close in for 1-1.
Two minutes later, Kersey was put away clear of the Wodson defence and obligingly slipped it wide of keeper Musgrove for 2-1 to WGC.
Kersey looked a threat everything the visitors attacked and five minutes later hit a dipping volley that thumped the crossbar before bouncing out.
He didn't have to wait long for his second goal and the side's third. In a carbon-copy of the first goal, WGC pulled a corner out for Doolan to meet with a header and Kersey swivelled to despatch the ball past the keeper for 3-1.
Wodson Park were still in the clash and Stevenson hit a dipping effort over Croft that hit the crossbar, but Kersey made sure of the points 17 minutes from time, being sent clear again to slot it past an unprotected keeper completing his hat-trick and a satisfactory opening night's work.
WGC Dev XI: Croft, Melandez, Ward, Payne (Mahrouche 73), McGrandles, Doolan, Studholme, Grey, Kersey (Richardson 75), Arnott, Luhasu (White 64).
